Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley yesterday met with students who are enrolled in the Guyana School of Agriculture’s training and entrepreneurship programme, as part of his visit to the Caribbean nation for the Agri-Investment Forum and Expo.

Dr Rowley was part of a contingent of Caricom leaders who visited the school and noted that the Ministry of Youth Development and National Service recently launched a similar programme.

The inaugural Agri-Investment Forum and Expo opened at the Arthur Chung Conference Centre on Thursday, and Guyana’s President Dr Mohamed Irfaan Ali said it clearly proves Caricom’s readiness to collectively drive the region’s food production system.

He said the regional leaders stand ready to advance every aspect of the food sector, whether in production, trade relations, issues of markets and barriers, transport and logistics.
