Ch­agua­nas MP Jack Warn­er says he has no plans of re­sign­ing his seat to fight a by-elec­tion with for­mer Ch­agua­nas may­or Dr Su­ruj Ram­bachan. "Such is the dream of fools...Imag­ine more than 11,000 per­sons vot­ed for me in the last gen­er­al elec­tion and I must re­sign just so," he said.

"I will not al­low my­self to be dis­tract­ed from the re­al is­sue fac­ing my par­ty and my coun­try. "And the re­al is­sue is 77-year-old (Op­po­si­tion Leader Bas­deo) Pan­day. Whether I re­sign or not is a mat­ter for my con­stituents to de­cide and I have no in­ten­tion of falling for any fool­ish bit of pro­pa­gan­da com­ing from the Rien­zi es­tab­lish­ment.

"I am not afraid to face Su­ruj. I faced him last Mon­day and won and if ever I have to face him again, the re­sult will be the same. "It is so much non­sense talk­ing of a by-elec­tion. I am an elect­ed UNC can­di­date, deputy po­lit­i­cal leader of the UNC, re­sign­ing as UNC MP to fight against UNC can­di­date Su­ruj Ram­bachan...Rub­bish. "I am the Mem­ber of Par­lia­ment for Ch­agua­nas West and Bas­deo Pan­day can­not change that."

Pan­day had called on Warn­er to re­sign his seat and face a by-elec­tion, af­ter Warn­er was in­stru­men­tal in re­mov­ing Ram­bachan as the may­or of Ch­agua­nas. Warn­er claimed the moth­er of all deals has tak­en place be­tween UNC leader Pan­day and the PNM for the Ma­yaro Rio Claro Re­gion­al Cor­po­ra­tion to re-elect Ram­lochan Pan­choo as chair­man. "PNM mem­bers of the Ma­yaro Rio Claro Cor­po­ra­tion are re­sist­ing de­spite the in­struc­tion which they have all re­ceived from their par­ty. You talk­ing about done deal. All in an ef­fort to lick up Gyp­sy to­mor­row."
