Chaguanas West MP Jack Warner will stay clear from clashing with Opposition Leader Basdeo Panday when he visits his (Warner's) constituency today. Panday is expected to meet Warner's constituents from the office of deputy mayor Orlando Nagessar today.
Warner, who is also Fifa vice president, is in Nigeria on an inspection tour to ensure that the stadiums would be ready for the Under -17 World Cup in October. Warner, in a telephone interview yesterday said he was paying no attention to Panday. Warner said he had no intention of coming face-to-face with Panday. Warner said, "I am in Nigeria. I have absolutely no intention of stopping him."
Unfazed by rumours that a medical practitioner would also be accompanying Panday, Warner said, "Let him put up a sign stating political practitioner. Let him hire a maxi and bring people I am not bothered. I am not interested." However, Warner said Panday should be prepared for when he opened up an office in his (Panday's) Couva North constituency on August 14. "That is what he should be prepared for...I am not bothered otherwise," Warner said.
