The na­tion­al ex­ec­u­tive of the UNC has sent Ch­agua­nas West MP Jack Warn­er be­fore the par­ty's dis­ci­pli­nary com­mit­tee.

UNC po­lit­i­cal leader Bas­deo Pan­day made the an­nounce­ment at a news con­fer­ence at Rien­zi Com­plex, Cou­va, last night. Pan­day said this move came be­cause Warn­er had failed to turn up at yes­ter­day's ex­ec­u­tive meet­ing and failed to pro­vide an­swers to al­le­ga­tions made against him in writ­ing. "We have ex­am­ined all the doc­u­ments, all the let­ters be­tween the par­ties and have de­cid­ed to re­fer that mat­ter to the dis­ci­pli­nary com­mit­tee," he said. Last week, the na­tion­al ex­ec­u­tive re­ferred Tabaquite MP Ramesh Ma­haraj and Ma­yaro MP Win­ston "Gyp­sy" Pe­ters to the dis­ci­pli­nary com­mit­tee.

Pan­day said the dis­ci­pli­nary com­mit­tee would then de­ter­mine its own course of ac­tion. He said two dis­si­dent UNC coun­cil­lors on the Ch­agua­nas Bor­ough Cor­po­ra­tion, Fal­isha Is­sa­hak and Nars­ingh Ram­baran, would al­so be asked to ap­pear be­fore the na­tion­al ex­ec­u­tive to ex­plain their con­duct in the elec­tion of the May­or of the Ch­agua­nas Bor­ough. Is­sa­hak, the coun­cil­lor for Char­lieville, nom­i­nat­ed Natasha Navas for the post of al­der­man, while the mo­tion was sec­ond­ed by Ram­baran, the coun­cil­lor for Cunu­pia. Navas was lat­er elect­ed as May­or by se­cret bal­lot, while Ram­bar­ran who was tout­ed and even ad­ver­tised to be the next deputy was beat­en by the in­cum­bent, Or­lan­do Nages­sar.
