The pro­ceed­ings of the Com­mis­sion of En­quiry in­to the con­struc­tion sec­tor should be val­i­dat­ed says Dana See­ta­hal, In­de­pen­dent Sen­a­tor. "I think it is ab­solute­ly nec­es­sary to val­i­date every­thing done by the com­mis­sion of en­quiry, or the work of the com­mis­sion of en­quiry so far," See­ta­hal said. She sup­port­ed her ar­gu­ment about the val­i­da­tion of the pro­ceed­ings of the Uff Com­mis­sion of En­quiry say­ing that all the mat­ters could have been in­ves­ti­gat­ed by the prop­er au­thor­i­ties, as they ought to have been in­ves­ti­gat­ed.

See­ta­hal was con­tribut­ing to de­bate in the Up­per House on the act to val­i­date the pro­ceed­ings and the record­ings of the Com­mis­sion of En­quiry in­to the con­struc­tion sec­tor. Com­ment­ing on the ap­point­ment of Jus­tice An­tho­ny Lucky to in­quire in­to the Gov­ern­ment's fail­ure to com­ply with the le­gal re­quire­ment to pub­lish the hold­ing of the in­quiry in the Gazette, See­ta­hal said she did not sup­port the pur­pose of the ap­point­ment.

"One per­son in­quir­ing in­to the fail­ure of a com­mis­sion of en­quiry. It sounds fun­ny. I don't be­lieve the ap­point­ment is un­der the com­mis­sion of en­quiry. Not that type of ap­point­ment. It is not a com­mis­sion."
