Panday: PM like a chicken drawn to corn
Basdeo Panday
Opposition Leader Basdeo Panday says Prime Minister Patrick Manning’s hunger for the powers of an executive president was like a chicken drawn to corn.
Panday rejected an article in another local newspaper that alluded to Manning’s non-interest in the proposed office of an executive president, which was set out in the working document for constitutional reform in Trinidad and Tobago. “I see in the papers he (Manning) say he is not interested in it. Well, boy, that is like to say a chicken is not interested in corn. How a chicken not be interested in corn? That is what he eats,” Panday said.
He reiterated that the Opposition would be willing to support the creation of an executive president, based on the condition that each constituent would be able to cast his or her vote to decide on the executive president, such as in the United States. “We say yes, there must be a president of Trinidad and Tobago, an executive president, but that executive president must be elected not the way that Manning says,” Panday said. “The president must be elected by the rank and file of the people on the basis of one man, one vote. Essentially, that is how the President of the United States is elected.”
Panday stressed that the “most important issue facing the Trinidad and Tobago was constitutional reform” because it would be critical to facilitate progress in areas such as crime-fighting. Panday was speaking at the United National Congress’ Monday Night Forum at the Aranguez Community Centre.
"Well, boy, that is like to
"Well, boy, that is like to say a chicken is not interested in corn. How a chicken not be interested in corn? That is what he eats,” Panday said.
I'm happy Panday takes the time to explain these simple analogies to his supporters. At least when they leave the meeting they could go home and say they learnt a new analogy.
And they say you've past your shelf life. Damn vote-splitters, you tell them boss.
JAI THE UNC AND JAI BASDEO PANDAY

PRAKASH RAMADHAR FOR LEADER
PRAKASH RAMADHAR FOR LEADER OF COP -
I think Prakash Ramadah is the best person to lead COP. He is a friend of Kamla, young, bright and articulate. He will be a bridge to unity.
The COP is on track
The COP is on track -
They are not the ones with the problem, progression is not one of their weaknesses and there is no bickering, fractioning or threat of legal action over leadership in the COP. You giving advice where it is clearly not needed. The UNC boy's club will benefit the most from any such advice about who best to lead a party. That much is plain to see for all who up to date in current events. If you are really interested in seeing T&T move forward perhaps you could advise the one party where leadership, the subject of your advice, is seemingly in perpetual question... But far be it from me or anyone else to tell you or anyone else who to advise. It just seems logical that advice is best given to those who need it most.
Just a humble suggestion.
SO YUH DONT LIKE PRAKASH
SO YUH DONT LIKE PRAKASH -
If people don’t like Panday they say so inside and even more outside. If you don’t like or prefer the young, articulate, diplomatic energetic Ramadhar all that Dookeran is not, just say so. When it is UNC business yuh could write epistle and gospel. Now yuh ducking and running. Like cat eat yuh tongue.
Like yuh cyar understand?

A basic course in English - seek one out, quick!
In another thread you gave your take on Prakash, and I responded there - I think you may even find it favourable.
But here where you busy straying from the subject in signature style, you coming across like you cyar understand how to contribute effectively to a topic. The subject of this thread is about Panday ponging Manning over the Executive Presidency. I eh ducking and running, I trying to be relevant to the topic while you singing song 'bout Prakash!!!! If you cannot read, just say so, and I will drop the standard a bit so you can keep up. If you can't stick to a subject don't hate on others who are able to.
And you really shouldn't talk about cat eat anybody tongue eh... whenever you come with false information and it get debunked with proven FACTS yuh does tuck tail and bolt...
Yuh get quiet?

It's amazing to see how members of the intellectually handicapped rising sun camp equate your paragraph to "yuh doh like Prakash". Could someone from that camp fill in the gap in logic?
YOU LET
YOU LET -
You let handicapped people beat you in an election. I would be ashamed to admit it. POWER TO HANHICAPPED PEOPLE. What I have learnt so far from COP bloggers,
1) They are arrogant
2) The do not like handicapped people
3) They do not like old people
4) Have illusions of grandeur
5) Superiority Complexes
resh1986, you see why now?
resh1986, you see why now? -
Now you see why the country in such crisis? When people get called out for willfully talking dotishness they get vex. Dey make a conscious choice tuh be illogical and irrelevant but dey vex when dey get looked down upon for an UNWILLINGNESS to think. People like these are QUITE DIFFERENT from people who for some reason may be naturally slow in their thinking or just not as intelligent for whatever natural reason. At least those persons make an effort. But here, we have people with the CAPABILITY of intelligent thought and an ability to reason drowning in willful ignorance. And they damn boldface to be vex at everybody else. Just look at where this fella going with he 1-5 points!!!! Brudder, "Handicapped" is a word with different meanings eh. It is YOUR mind that selects the definition to suit the agenda you trying to push. I read that kinda reasoning and believe more than ever that you really cyar spell "DUNCE" without U-N-C being at the very center. You eh see is little wonder the UNC dying fast!! The only person in that party doing any thinking, thinking of himself.
Just for the record eh, people who are, by choice, intellectually handicapped will always think everybody else is arrogant and condescending. If you CHOOSE to act dumb, expect to be treated accordingly.

UPDATE QUOTES YOU WOULD NOT
UPDATE QUOTES YOU WOULD NOT SEE IN THE GUARDIAN -
We all know that the Guardian supported COP in the last election predicting they would win the election. So it is no surprise that the only quotes we get from Panday are in a negative light. The following are some quotes from Panday you will not see. Panday quotes you do not hear,
1) If you put PNM in power the Crime and Corruption will get worse.
2) COP will not win a seat.
3) Unity is necessary for the opposition to govern.
4) If a teacher abandons his classroom, he is behaving like a criminal. Not the propaganda version designed to discredit him "Teachers are criminals".
5) Changing the name from Government Pension to a Grant would work against the pensioners. A pension you can’t take away at any time.
6) You can pass as many laws as you want but if the government does not have the will to fight crime nothing will change.
7) The attack on Sat Sharma is an attack on the judiciary, and an attempt to control them
8) Political Interference in the Judiciary makes us wary of giving up the Privy Council. There should be a wide consultation and a referendum before any change.
9) We will leave no child behind, it will only add to the crime problem
10) Its wrong COP has no seats
Pot calling kettle black!
Pot calling kettle black! -
The PM drawn to executive presidential power like a chicken drawn to corn! Why shouldn't it be true!
What allyuh forgetting is that Panday himself is strongly in favour of Executive Presidency. He wants it real bad!!! And he trying to tell people that there will be "checks and balances" to ensure the EP can't do what he wants! Just like there were checks and balances during his administration, and look what happened. Men serving time in jail in Florida over Panday's idea of "checks and balances". Panday and his wife facing court over his idea of "checks and balances". This old has-been seems to think that being an Executive President will save him from prison (which of course it will), it will benefit him more than it will benefit Manning, he wants it BAAAAAAAD!! But he want to criticize Manning over it. Little wonder no one is surprised that he wants to cling to leadership so badly. Not even when HELL freezes over!!
THEY BOTH WANT EXECUTIVE
THEY BOTH WANT EXECUTIVE PRESIDENT -
But there are important differences that you deliberately fail to mention. You are really getting good at this. You were really excited about the position offered to you when COP was projected to win 25 seats I could see you already licking your chops. Panday came along and stopped your dreams. You could have been a Minister by now. What a bitter disappointment when I read your blogs I can feel your pain and even hate.
You tell dem!
You tell dem! -
Tell dem like it is man!! Although, I looking around and I cyar see who you talking to.
The position that was offered to me by the COP was offered to 1,299,999 other Trinidadians and Tobagonians. And yes, your führer came along and stepped on all our dreams. But we fear not, Panday's days for stepping on a people's dreams are at an end. Just ask his delegates, the same ones he once depended on to carry through his "final solution". Zeig Heil!!!!!!
YUH OVER PROJECTING AGAIN
YUH OVER PROJECTING AGAIN -
First you predicted that you would win 25 seats and won 0. Now you are using 148,000 some votes to suggest ALL AH WE. All ah we breakdown consists of
Total Electorate - 990,352
Total Voted - 651,576
PNM - 26 seats, 299,813 votes
UNC - 15 seats, 194,425 votes
COP - 0 seats, 148,041 votes
You are COP so how you become all ah we, with a leader in front the court you could not even get more seats than UNC. With all the PNM corruption you could not get more seats than PNM. Now you need Panday to step aside so you could win a seat. It is like you run a race against a man with no legs and another with no hands and you still cannot beat them. OK let’s make it a sure thing so you don't have to repeatedly make excused for your abysmal failure. How about if PNM and UNC do not go up for elections to be certain any other party either NNDPT, NAR, Laventille Movement for Change and even NJAC, I predict that you will definitely win the elections 41-0. I am 100% certain.
For all who head hard
For all who head hard -
Such as your good self, here it is ah-gain.
I am NOT for PNM - too much of my money wasting
I am NOT for UNC by any stretch of the goddamn imagination - too much of my money was stolen
I am NOT for COP, though I prefer them as an alternative to what we have now.
There are some issues with the COP which for me personally, need to be resolved - and it is a fundamental thing, not no court chupidness. They may not matter to others but they matter to me. As yet they are not resolved and until they are I will not be casting my vote for the COP, nor will I canvass for the COP. I am simply saying that my own personal concerns notwithstanding, they are the most viable alternative. I know that you have problems with english and multi-syllable words, but even YOU should be able to understand that...
Now, as to your own electoral breakdown... again, for all who cyar or WON'T understand english. This is what I said:
"The position that was offered to me by the COP was offered to 1,299,999 other Trinidadians and Tobagonians."
What that simply means is that the COP offered themselves to ALL OF Trinidad & Tobago. Where 148,041 and 194,425 and 299,813 and 651,576 and 990,352 come from? Even if only 990,352 out of 1,300,000 could vote, it still represents a TOTAL offering. Like yuh does get off on being irrelevant! You is really UNC yes!
So yuh could continue to try an' pin down Marchalis, I actually enjoy watching your desperation!
I REMEMBER THOSE FAMOUS
I REMEMBER THOSE FAMOUS WORDS -
I know not the man.I am NOT FOR COP. HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA. Yuh could ah fool me.
Panday is your leader
Panday is your leader -
that mean ANYONE could fool you!
