?United National Congress chairman hopeful Jack Warner is heading to the election polls on Sunday with his lawyers on standby. Should members encounter any problems, Warner said, they would also have a hotline in place together with their video cameras. Warner, who is fighting against St Augustine MP Vasant Bharath, made the comments when he appeared on the Independent candidates' platform at Siparia KPA Primary School, Fyzabad, on Wednesday night. The Chaguanas West MP said: "I will be going to the polls on Sunday as a candidate not knowing who can vote and who cannot vote."
He said the People's National Movement had all the right to mock them because they were a party without a membership data base. But, Warner said, come Sunday they would have polling agents and cameras in 19 polling stations to check the number of persons voting. "We have a hotline that tells you any problem you can call us. We have lawyers standing by," he said. Warner claimed that they have put members in St Ann's and Diego Martin to vote in St Paul Street, East Dry River, so "they will be too frightened, afraid to go there to vote." (SW)
