In the wake of the resignation of the Urban Development Corporation of Trinidad and Tobago (Udecott) executive chairman Calder Hart, Opposition Leader Kamla Persad-Bissessar is calling for a forensic investigation into the state agency. Persad-Bissessar made the call while delivering the feature address at the Network for the Advancement of Women Conference hosted at Cascadia Hotel yesterday. She said, "Our nation breathes a collective sigh of relief at this small victory. The people call for a forensic investigation into the dubious dealings of Hart and Udecott.

We reiterate our call for the Director of the Public Prosecutions and the Commissioner of Police to launch these with due haste."

Persad-Bissessar added, "Mr Hart may have been forced to resign under the weight of the evidence in the full glare of the public eye but that is not the end of the story. "It is must be the beginning of a full blown investigation into the circumstances of all he has been accused of, and such of which is expect to be revealed in the UFF Commissioner of Enquiry that the courts have now cleared for publication."
