?So­cial De­vel­op­ment Min­is­ter Dr Amery Brown last night de­clined to com­ment on re­ports that a pro­pos­al to in­crease se­nior cit­i­zens' grant was be­fore Cab­i­net.

"I would not dis­cuss any mat­ter be­fore Cab­i­net," Brown said, in re­sponse to re­ports that Cab­i­net was dis­cussing in­creas­ing the grant from May 2.

Se­nior cit­i­zens' grant is the des­ig­na­tion giv­en a cou­ple years ago to the month­ly state as­sis­tance, pre­vi­ous­ly called old age pen­sion.
