UNC chairman Jack Warner last night ridiculed Basdeo Panday's threat to contest the Chaguanas West constituency. "I am trembling," Warner told a UNC meeting at St Augustine. He also wondered aloud on what basis was Dr Keith Rowley selected as a PNM candidate, after his earlier run-in with the party.
He claimed that several government ministers had criticised Rowley. Warner called on Prime Minister Patrick Manning to explain "on what basis you selected someone about whom you feel all is not well." He recalled that Manning had accused Rowley of "wajang" behaviour. Warner also attacked PNM frontliner Colm Imbert.
