Chair­man of The In­tegri­ty Com­mis­sion Dr Er­ic St Cyr, in re­sponse to At­tor­ney Gen­er­al Anand Ram­lo­gan's state­ment, said yes­ter­day the com­mis­sion had no staff and was not equipped to ad­dress the loot­ing at the Heights of Gu­napo. St Cyr could not say if the po­lice were the ones to deal with this mat­ter. "I don't know, I sup­pose... We don't have any phys­i­cal or mil­i­tary re­sources. I don't un­der­stand..." Ques­tioned how far in­ves­ti­ga­tions in­to the con­struc­tion of the con­tro­ver­sial church had reached, St Cyr said peo­ple were as­signed to con­duct the probe.

"I don't go and do the in­ves­ti­ga­tions. I don't want to be un­co­op­er­a­tive or not po­lite. I re­al­ly don't un­der­stand what the is­sue is about. The mat­ter is be­fore us. We are do­ing an in­ves­ti­ga­tion." Asked if he felt the com­mis­sion was be­ing un­nec­es­sar­i­ly at­tacked, St Cyr replied: "I don't think so." St Cyr said what we need to do is un­der­stand the role of the In­tegri­ty Com­mis­sion. "We are not in any con­test. We would just like to get on with what we are do­ing." (SH)
