Eleven prop­er­ties of the Ja­maat al Mus­limeen are to be put up for pub­lic auc­tion on Au­gust 17.

It is sched­uled to take place at City Hall, Knox Street, Port-of-Spain, from 10 am. The auc­tion is be­ing done pur­suant to an or­der of Jus­tice Ra­jen­dra Nar­ine on Sep­tem­ber 11 last year. It is aimed at re­cov­er­ing mon­ey owed to the state aris­ing from the Ju­ly 27, 1990 at­tempt­ed coup.

At­tor­ney Gen­er­al Anand Ram­lo­gan pub­licly re­vealed the planned auc­tion while speak­ing at a po­lit­i­cal ral­ly Wednes­day night. He has been de­scribed as the plain­tiff and judg­ment cred­i­tor. The de­fen­dants, or judg­ment debtors, are the Ja­maat al Mus­limeen, Lennox Phillip, oth­er­wise known as Yasin Abu Bakr, Trevor Con­stan­tine, oth­er­wise known as Kala Aki Bua, and 112 oth­ers.

Prop­er­ties

The re­spec­tive prop­er­ties are:

�2 Five acres, three roods and 26 perch­es of land, part of La Puer­ta Es­tate, along with a dwelling house, oc­cu­pied by Anisa Abu Bakr;

�2 a to­tal of 14,807 feet of land at Guayagua­yare;

�2 some 635.2 square me­tres of land and a build­ing at Dibe;

�2 a par­cel of land, the size of .4199 hectares, off Rivulet Road, Cou­va;

�2 a par­cel of land, of 2.4551 hectares, at In­di­an Trail, Cou­va;

�2 a par­cel of land, of 2.4551 hectares, at Rivulet Pass Road, Cou­va;

�2 a par­cel of land, of 12 acres, one rood and 25 perch­es, at In­di­an Trail Road, Cou­va;

�2 a par­cel of land, com­pris­ing 1,086.5 square me­tres, at Mara­bel­la;

�2 a par­cel of land, of six acres, one rood and 24 perch­es, at Mu­cu­rapo;

�2 a lot of land and a build­ing at 10 Park Av­enue, Queen's Park East, Port-of-Spain; and,

�2 a par­cel of land, of 2.6299 hectares, known as Zor­ro, at Las Cuevas.

The prop­er­ties are to be sold sub­ject to out­stand­ing rates, tax­es and charges owed.
