Op­po­si­tion Leader Dr Kei­th Row­ley has said he hoped Hous­ing and En­vi­ron­ment Min­is­ter Dr Roodal Mooni­lal was pay­ing his own house mort­gage.

Row­ley said that while re­spond­ing to claims by Mooni­lal that Bal­isi­er House, head­quar­ters of the Op­po­si­tion Peo­ple's Na­tion­al Move­ment (PNM) may have to be sold for the par­ty to re­pay an out­stand­ing debt to the Pub­lic Trans­port Ser­vice Cor­po­ra­tion (PTSC).

Mooni­lal said on Mon­day Row­ley's PNM could ex­pect a "se­ri­ous bill" short­ly for ser­vices pro­vid­ed to it by the PTSC dur­ing the May 24 gen­er­al elec­tion cam­paign. But Row­ley hit back min­utes af­ter con­ced­ing de­feat to the Peo­ple's Part­ner­ship in Mon­day's lo­cal gov­ern­ment elec­tions.

"Bal­isi­er House in not in any threat...That's just po­lit­i­cal talk," he said."If there are bills ow­ing to the PTSC, those who in­curred those bills would dis­charge them. If the par­ty has bills to dis­charge we will try and dis­charge them."
