The Fellowship of Arima Ministers (FAM) has announced special prayer services in memory of the late Member of Parliament for D'Abadie/O'Meara, Lisa Morris-Julian, and her two children, who died yesterday in a house fire.
FAM expressed sorrow over the tragedy, recognising Morris-Julian for her dedication to the people of Arima, D’Abadie, and surrounding areas.
"Her longstanding relationship with Arima’s churches dates back to her tenure as mayor, a role in which she maintained close ties with the community. As a parliamentary representative, she continued this legacy by remaining accessible to churches and residents alike," the release stated.
Morris-Julian was a strong supporter of FAM. On December 6, just days before her death, she attended the FAM Christmas dinner, where she thanked local pastors for their prayers and support. She also reaffirmed her commitment to church-led community projects aimed at uplifting residents and protecting the environment.
FAM Chairperson Pastor Anthony Ali noted the impact of her loss on the pastoral community. "Lisa’s consistent presence at events and her unwavering support for faith-based initiatives will be greatly missed," he said.
FAM is also offering counselling services to those affected by her passing.
