The Fel­low­ship of Ari­ma Min­is­ters (FAM) has an­nounced spe­cial prayer ser­vices in mem­o­ry of the late Mem­ber of Par­lia­ment for D'Abadie/O'Meara, Lisa Mor­ris-Ju­lian, and her two chil­dren, who died yes­ter­day in a house fire.

FAM ex­pressed sor­row over the tragedy, recog­nis­ing Mor­ris-Ju­lian for her ded­i­ca­tion to the peo­ple of Ari­ma, D’Abadie, and sur­round­ing ar­eas.

"Her long­stand­ing re­la­tion­ship with Ari­ma’s church­es dates back to her tenure as may­or, a role in which she main­tained close ties with the com­mu­ni­ty. As a par­lia­men­tary rep­re­sen­ta­tive, she con­tin­ued this lega­cy by re­main­ing ac­ces­si­ble to church­es and res­i­dents alike," the re­lease stat­ed.

Mor­ris-Ju­lian was a strong sup­port­er of FAM. On De­cem­ber 6, just days be­fore her death, she at­tend­ed the FAM Christ­mas din­ner, where she thanked lo­cal pas­tors for their prayers and sup­port. She al­so reaf­firmed her com­mit­ment to church-led com­mu­ni­ty projects aimed at up­lift­ing res­i­dents and pro­tect­ing the en­vi­ron­ment.

FAM Chair­per­son Pas­tor An­tho­ny Ali not­ed the im­pact of her loss on the pas­toral com­mu­ni­ty. "Lisa’s con­sis­tent pres­ence at events and her un­wa­ver­ing sup­port for faith-based ini­tia­tives will be great­ly missed," he said.

FAM is al­so of­fer­ing coun­selling ser­vices to those af­fect­ed by her pass­ing.
