Days after going into self-quarantine after her aide-de-camp tested positive for COVID-19, President Paula-Mae Weekes has tested negative for the virus.
She was swabbed yesterday by health officials. The aide-de-camp, who served as master of ceremonies for the swearing-in of the new cabinet and the appointment of the leader of the opposition, tested positive over the weekend. A statement from the Office of the President provided the update.

“Her Excellency Paula-Mae Weekes O.R.T.T., President of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago has tested negative for COVID-19. All buildings on the President’s House compound were sanitised overnight. Testing of OTP staff is ongoing.”
