A woman found her husband dead in their unfinished house in Princes Town after he failed to pick up their son from school on Monday.
While police believe Ronnie Hosein may have been killed as a result of a dispute, they did not want to disclose any more details on the possible motive.
Hosein, 45, was an electrical and instrumentation technician at a company in Point Lisas.
His wife, Amerlita Mc Kenna-Hosein, told police that around 7.10 am on Monday, she left him at their home in Princes Town and went to work.
She last spoke with him on his cellphone around 9 am. However, around 4.20 pm, her son’s teacher called her because her husband had not picked him up from school.
She tried calling him without success and went to her sister-in-law’s home in search of him. Around 5.15 pm, Mc Kenna-Hosein and her sister-in-law went to Baboolal Trace, Garth Road, where she and her husband have a two-story house under construction. She saw her husband’s Honda Civic parked on the roadway with a bunch of keys on the front seat.
Upon entering the house, they saw him lying on the ground in the bathroom area on the ground floor in a pool of blood. It is believed that he was stabbed, but the police are awaiting the results of an autopsy. When Guardian Media visited the couple’s home and the murder scene, none of his relatives were present.
Expressing shock over his murder, a resident said the area was peaceful and everyone was respectful, friendly and polite.
In a brief telephone interview, his wife told Guardian Media that her husband was a loving person who sacrificed everything for his family. She had no idea why he was murdered. Hosein was a father of two.
Officers of the Homicide Region 3 are investigating.
