The Princes Town Re­gion­al Cor­po­ra­tion (PTRC) is im­ple­ment­ing a plan it hopes will en­sure a safe and crime-free Christ­mas sea­son for every­one.

An of­fi­cial re­lease from the Cor­po­ra­tion re­ports that Chair­man Gowrie Roop­nar­ine met this week with the Su­per­in­ten­dent and oth­er of­fi­cers of the Princes Town Po­lice Sta­tion, the Su­per­in­ten­dent of the Princes Town Mu­nic­i­pal Po­lice, the Chief Traf­fic War­den and the busi­ness own­ers of Princes Town.

Dis­cussed at the meet­ing were the pos­si­bil­i­ty of an ex­tend­ed po­lice pres­ence in and around the town dur­ing busi­ness hours and for traf­fic to be at a min­i­mum so that busi­ness own­ers and burgess­es can con­duct their trans­ac­tions safe­ly and in a con­ve­nient man­ner.

Not­ing that the goal is to en­sure that Princes Town is a safe place to shop this Christ­mas, Chair­man Gowrie Roop­nar­ine pledged the Cor­po­ra­tion’s full sup­port to the Po­lice Ser­vice and in­di­cat­ed his will­ing­ness to pro­vide any as­sis­tance that would help them in per­form­ing their du­ties.
