Min­is­ter of Pub­lic Util­i­ties Mar­vin Gon­za­les is cur­rent­ly in To­ba­go vis­it­ing sev­er­al pub­lic util­i­ties through­out To­ba­go East and West. Min­is­ter Gon­za­les vis­it­ed the To­ba­go West Waste Treat­ment Plant at SWM­COL and street light­ing projects at Carn­bee and Bethel. The Min­is­ter said he would al­so pay par­tic­u­lar at­ten­tion to “res­i­dents at Crown Point who would be re­lo­cat­ed to fa­cil­i­tate the ANR Robin­son Air­port ex­pan­sion project.”

A vis­it to the Hills­bor­ough Dam is al­so list­ed on the itin­er­ary, a fol­low up on the de­silt­ing pro­gram which be­gan last year. Min­is­ter Gon­za­les said wa­ter ac­ces­si­bil­i­ty through­out the is­land is crit­i­cal as “the is­land cur­rent­ly has a deficit of 8-10 mil­lion gal­lons dai­ly.” He said the sit­u­a­tion must be rec­ti­fied as ho­tel and guest house own­ers com­plain of hav­ing pay for truck borne wa­ter.
