Minister of Public Utilities Marvin Gonzales is currently in Tobago visiting several public utilities throughout Tobago East and West. Minister Gonzales visited the Tobago West Waste Treatment Plant at SWMCOL and street lighting projects at Carnbee and Bethel. The Minister said he would also pay particular attention to “residents at Crown Point who would be relocated to facilitate the ANR Robinson Airport expansion project.”
A visit to the Hillsborough Dam is also listed on the itinerary, a follow up on the desilting program which began last year. Minister Gonzales said water accessibility throughout the island is critical as “the island currently has a deficit of 8-10 million gallons daily.” He said the situation must be rectified as hotel and guest house owners complain of having pay for truck borne water.
The Public Utilities Minister also paid a courtesy call and Chief Secretary Ancil Dennis
