Hours after the bodies of their four relatives were found in a locked car in Toco, relatives of Barry and Shalini Choon were trying to come to terms with the deaths.
The couple and their children, Sarah, 11, and Jacob, seven months, were found dead in a car at Hamburg Trace, Toco, around 1 pm on Friday. Investigators said Shalini and Sarah’s throats had been slit, while Jacob appeared to have been suffocated. It is believed thay Barry died after ingesting a poisonous substance.
Unwilling to speculate as to what led to the apparent murder/suicide, relatives yesterday said very little about the incident. Instead, a male relative said it would be better wait until the autopsies are performed tomorrow.
Relatives said the couple seemed to be happy and there were no signs that they were facing any difficulties. They earned their living together by selling doubles at Pokhar Road, Longdenville.
Sarah had been attending the Kingdom Kids Primary School.
The couple and their children were last seen on Thursday and had prepared ingredients to make doubles to sell on Friday.
