Calypso legend David Rudder has been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease, and as a result is expected to be performing on stage for the last time in a major show next month.
Rudder, affectionately known as "King David", turns 70 on May 6.
And on that day, he will be marking the occasion with an event titled "come and celebrate" at Sound Forge in Woodbrook.
But the performance may be bittersweet as it is anticipated to be his last time on a major stage.
Speaking during a press conference at Kaiso Blues Cafe, Rudder said after the pandemic and the loss of several loved ones he decided to do a health check-up.
This is when Rudder said he received the Parkinson's diagnosis.
While Rudder said he may do other performances this is expected to be the last of this magnitude.
