A 19-year-old man of Bois Bande Village, Sangre Grande, was fined $20,000 when he appeared before a Sangre Grande Magistrate today charged with possession of a firearm and ammunition.Kyle Williams pleaded guilty and was fined $10,000 on each charge.
According to police reports, Williams was arrested during an exercise conducted in the Eastern Division on March 8th. The exercise was carried out concerning a report of a robbery that occurred on March 5th at Manrick Street, Sangre Grande.
During the exercise, a search warrant for firearms and ammunition was executed at the home of the accused in his presence and one Colt 380 pistol with five rounds of 380 ammunition was found on the premises and seized. He was arrested and charged by PC Diaz.
The exercise was coordinated by Snr. Supt. Ryan Khan along with Insp. Calendar supervised by Cpls De La Rosa, Osuna and included officers of Sangre Grande Criminal Investigations Department and Eastern Division Task Force
