Attorney Keith Scotland has been chosen as the PNM’s Port-of-Spain South candidate, PoS South executive officials announced last night.
This was after Scotland was screened by the PNM’s screening team. There were five other nominees. The selection completes the PNM’s screenings.
Meanwhile, one time PNM MP Peter Taylor yesterday joined the Opposition UNC’s campaign for Moruga assisting UNC candidate Michelle Benjamin.
Taylor said, “I’ve been flooded with calls of frustration by many persons over allegations by National Security Minister Stuart Young that Tuesday’s protests were politically motivated.
“History has shown that the party which wins Local Government elections goes on to win general elections and the UNC rose in the Local Government elections. So if any party would want to ensure the atmosphere remains conducive to free and fair elections, it’s the UNC. Young didn’t provide a shred of evidence.”
“Moruga/Tableland, described as the most marginal of the marginals, will set the agenda for the rest of T&T in this election, particularly since this PNM Government has collapsed. T&T has to unite across all lines and speak with one voice to remove the existential threat that the PNM poses.”
