Police have charged a second man with the murder of 2019 murder of Damian Howe.
Jamal Warner, 24, of Enid Street, Marabella, was charged following directions from Director of Public Prosecutions Roger Gaspard SC on Monday.
Howe was at his Kitchener Street, Marabella home around 5.15 am on November 14, 2019, when two armed men entered
and shot him several times about the body.
The assailants escaped through the front door of the house.
Warner was arrested on last week Thursday in connection with the incident and charged with the offence by PC Rahim of the
Homicide Bureau of Investigations, Region 3.
This murder was previously solved in January 2020, with 26-year-old Jamal Butcher being charged on January 13, 2020 connection with the incident.
Butcher appeared before a San Fernando magistrate on January 14, 2020.
Man charged with robbing cop of gun
A 39-year-old man has been charged with robbery with aggravation after a police officer was robbed of his gun in Santa Cruz on June 18, 2020
Anton Otis Samuel, of Laventille Extension, Morvant, was formally charged with the offence on June 23, 2020.
He appeared in the Port- of- Spain Magistrates’ Court the following day and the case was adjourned to July 22.
A statement from the police service said a Glock 30 pistol, belonging to the police officer, was also recovered on July 3, 2020 and taken for analysis.
The victim reported standing in his yard after exiting his vehicle when he was approached by an armed and masked man who demanded cash.
He attempted to draw his licensed firearm when it was taken by a second suspect. The suspects escaped in a waiting
car after taking cash from the victim’s vehicle.
The car was later intercepted, however, there was only one suspect found in the vehicle. He was arrested.
