Sales did not slow down at Massy Stores for the Christmas period.
Despite being the subject of many jokes or internet memes for much of the past week, crowds continued to flock to the Massy Stores on Friday and yesterday, as thousands went to the groceries around the country to do last-minute shopping or secure Christmas specials advertised by the supermarket chain.
Massy Stores’ marketing team confirmed that its stores had been extremely busy, particularly on Friday as we sought an interview to confirm if sales had been positive.
Guardian Media visited Massy Stores in Westmoorings yesterday and saw a full car park and a regular stream of vehicular and pedestrian traffic.
Massy Stores is one of the companies under the umbrella of the Massy Holdings group. Last week at a Massy Holdings shareholders’ meeting, the group’s Executive vice president, Business Integrity & Group General Counsel Angelique Parisot-Potter questioned foreign exchange spending on international training sessions at Fort Myers, Florida.
Parisot-Potter also questioned what those sessions entailed with the suggestion that they involved ‘bizarre rituals’ and ‘highly dubious activities’.
Parisot-Potter has since been placed on administrative leave until January 12, 2024, or until the completion of an internal investigation.
The group has since denied that the sessions involved questionable activities.
However, before and since making a statement denying the sessions were questionable in practice, Massy and, in particular, Massy Stores has been the object of several viral internet posts and jokes about the brand’s involvement in weird practices.
Several Massy Stores branches are set to be open overnight, with all branches set to close later today.
