Skeletal remains found at the St Joseph Secondary School on Sunday remain unidentified.

According to a police report, around 3.30 pm a man flagged down patrolling police officers from the St Joseph Station and told them that he had detected a foul smell coming from the school.

The officers made a check and in an elevator shaft on the western side of the compound, about three feet down, they saw the remains, which were suspected to be human.

The area was cordoned off and officials from the Homicide Bureau were contacted, and a team led by Insp Pierre and W Sgt Robinson-Mottley responded.

The remains were viewed by a district medical officer who ordered their removal to the Forensic Science Centre.

An autopsy has been ordered pending identification.
