The Joint Select Committee (JSC) on Social Services and Public Administration will be hosting a virtual meeting, to examine how the education sector will continue to function during the COVID-19 pandemic.
From 10:15 am tomorrow, Friday 5th June 2020, the Committee will convene its 2nd Virtual Hearing with stakeholders from the education sector.
The focus of the meeting will be the Ministry of Education’s strategies for ensuring continuity in the delivery of education amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.
A release from the Parliament’s Secretariat notes that the meeting will be facilitated via the Zoom video conferencing platform.
The following education sector stakeholders are expected to appear before the Committee:
a. Schools Principals’ Association (Primary and Secondary);
b. Denominational School Boards (selected boards);
c. Trained Psychologists; and
d. Organisations representing children with special needs.
The Parliament Secretariat says the JSC meeting will be broadcast live via the Parliament’s media channels: the Parliament Channel on television, Parliament Radio 105.5 FM, and online via its YouTube Channel Parlview.
