Police officers from the Special Operations Response Team(SORT) have come up empty-handed after concluding a two-hour police exercise at Building 17 in Maloney on Wednesday.
Senior police sources told Guardian Media that the officers, headed by Sgt Mark Hernandez, went to the area shortly before 4 pm acting on information they had received in relation to specific individuals wanted in connection for various crimes.
SORT officers, Guardian Media was informed, searched four apartments for the men. The suspects are wanted by the police for questioning into a string of shootings and murders over the last few weeks.
However, after a two-hour search in which they locked down the building, the officers were unable to locate the wanted individuals.
