Stolen vehicle recovered after swift action by police

Of­fi­cers from the North Cen­tral Di­vi­sion Task Force swift­ly re­cov­ered a stolen ve­hi­cle just min­utes af­ter a rob­bery in Arou­ca on Wednes­day.

Ac­cord­ing to a me­dia re­lease is­sued by the T&T Po­lice Ser­vice yes­ter­day, at 7 am, po­lice con­sta­bles Rochford and Slack re­spond­ed to a rob­bery re­port in­volv­ing a white Nis­san Ti­i­da. The ve­hi­cle was re­port­ed­ly stolen from its own­er, a 70-year-old man, at Ceme­tery Street, Five Rivers, Arou­ca.

Ac­com­pa­nied by the vic­tim, the of­fi­cers pro­ceed­ed to Ceme­tery Street, where they dis­cov­ered the aban­doned car. The ve­hi­cle had vis­i­ble dam­age to its front left side. Fur­ther in­ves­ti­ga­tions led to the ar­rest of a 21-year-old sus­pect. Both the sus­pect and the re­cov­ered ve­hi­cle were tak­en to the Arou­ca Po­lice Sta­tion for ad­di­tion­al in­quiries.
