Significant street and flash flooding in Port of Spain, brought on by heavy mid-morning showers, have subsided.
By 1.30pm tody, street flooding along Independence Square South, Edward Street, Henry Street, Chacon Street, Piccadilly Street, Lower Charlotte Street, Colville Street and South Quay had run off, leaving the streets once again clear to traffic.
According to the Office of Disaster Preparedness and Management (ODPM), there was also flooding in Mt Lambert, along the Eastern Main in San Juan and Beetham along the Priority Bus Route.
In Arouca, street flooding caused one person to be trapped in a car. The T&T Fire Service was said to have been dispatched to assist that person.
Along Wrightson Road, a fallen tree also caused a significant amount of traffic shortly before noon.
