Police have detained a man who chopped his supervisor about the body and face during an argument at work on Wednesday.
The victim remained in a stable condition at hospital yesterday.
Police said the 32-year-old from Penal was at work at the Housing Development Corporation’s Waste Water Plant, Trestrail Development, D’ Abadie, when he got into an altercation with the suspect.
The incident occurred at 11.11 am in the presence of the victim’s wife and other employees of DES LIMITED, who were contracted to carry out work at the site.
Police said the victim and the employee began quarrelling which then turned into a physical fight when the suspect got a cutlass and dealt the victim several chops to his head and left arm.
Police said other employees intervened and the victim was taken to the Arima Hospital where he is being treated.
The suspect was later detained by police.
