A San Fernando man was arrested on Monday, for allegedly making death threats via social media.
The arrest took place as police officers conducted an intelligence-led exercise in the Southern Division, between 4 am and 9 am yesterday (April 1, 2024).
According to police reports, several death threats reportedly were made via social media against persons in the Arima Police District. During their investigations, officers from the Arima Criminal Investigations Department (CID), along with personnel from the Northern Division Task Force Area North and the San Fernando CID, received information that led them to a residence located at Nandaramsingh Avenue, Philippine, San Fernando.
Upon arrival at the location, the officers questioned a man at that address concerning the alleged death threats.
The man was subsequently detained, and then taken to the Arima Police Station for further inquiries.
Investigations are ongoing.
