Acting Commissioner of Police Mc Donald Jacob yesterday commended officers of the Homicide Bureau after two more persons were arrested and charged with murder.
He said work by the detectives led to charges against Nekeiva “Darko” Glasgow, 36, of Abbe Poujade Street, Carenage, for murder, possession of firearm, possession of ammunition, possession of firearm to endanger life and possession of ammunition to endanger life. He was involved in the death of Parris Maharaj, 34, of Jacob Coat Extension, North Eastern Settlement, Sangre Grande, who was shot and killed on October 4, 2020.
The accused allegedly fled the country after the crime, but with the assistance of Interpol and other local authorities, was deported from St Vincent, arrested and charged. He is expected to appear at the Sangre Grande Magistrates’ Court tomorrow.
Lester Lobin, 31, of Maloney Road West, Grand Lagoon Village, Mayaro, was charged with murder and malicious wounding in the death of Margaret Nina, 67, of Mayaro on February 25. The accused was charged by WPC Timothy of the Homicide Bureau Region II Office and is due to appear before a Mayaro Magistrate tomorrow.
