Three men were arrested and approximately $8 million in cocaine was seized by the Northern Division Task Force (NDTF) on Saturday.
According to reports, police officers were on patrol in St Helena when they got a tip-off about two vehicles transporting the drugs and pulled them over.
Police say a white pick-up and a black car were stopped and searched. Investigators said they found two suitcases containing 23 packets of cocaine in the vehicles.
The drugs weighed 20 kilogrammes.
The three men, two from Piarco and one from Gasparillo, were arrested.
Sgt Pitt of the NDTF led the exercise.
In a separate incident on Sunday, officers of the Port-of-Spain Task Force found a gun and nine rounds of ammunition in Laventille.
According to the TTPS, police were tipped off that there were a group of men liming on Celestine Drive, Trou Macaque, Laventille and went into the area.
When the group saw the police, they ran off. Police also searched a bushy area where the group had been liming and found a Glock pistol, loaded with nine rounds of ammunition.
Snr Supt Florence Hodge-Griffith led the exercise, while Ag Insp Mc Guirk supervised.
