The Tobago Hindu Society (THC) celebrated Indian Arrival Day on Saturday at the Gulf City Mall, in Lowlands.
The event was free to the public and featured the talents of Tobago’s East Indian Community and artistes from Trinidad.
In her address, president of the Tobago Hindu Society, Pulwatty Beepath, said the organisation was proud to celebrate Indian Arrival Day for 30 consecutive years.
Beepath also praised the founding members of the THS, among them Colonel Mahindra Mathur (retired), Pradeep Kumar and Vishnu Singh.
Beepath said the THS struggled for years to construct a temple. She also heaped praise on former chief secretary of the Tobago House of Assembly (THA) Orville London for assisting the THS tremendously.
She said by the end of 2023 the temple should be completed with the help of many people and businesses.
