There were no new deaths from COVID-19 during the period 10-16 July 2022, according to the first weekly update from the Division of Health, Wellness and Social Protection, in the Tobago House of Assembly (THA). Tobago’s death toll is 272, as at Saturday 16 July 2022.
The island has not recorded a new death from the disease since 2 July 2022. An unvaccinated person was identified as the deceased on that date.
In addition, the THA Health Division report notes 74 more people tested positive for COVID-19 in Tobago, last week. The number of active infections, as at Saturday 16 July 2022, was 104.
In terms of hospitalisations for COVID-19, the Health Division reports that 13 people are hospitalised, with four of these patients unvaccinated against the disease, while the other nine patients were fully vaccinated.
The Tobago COVID-19 update for 10-16 July 2022 also reports that 91 people were certified as recovered from COVID-19 during the period.
It notes the total number of people in Tobago who have recovered from COVID-19 since March 2020 is 9,820.
