Tobago reports 1 new COVID case, 12 people hospitalised

On­ly one per­son has test­ed pos­i­tive for COVID-19 in To­ba­go over the past 24 hours, with this new in­fec­tion mov­ing the num­ber of cur­rent ac­tive in­fec­tions on the is­land to 436.

That’s ac­cord­ing to the lat­est up­date from Di­vi­sion of Health, Well­ness and So­cial Pro­tec­tion, in the To­ba­go House of As­sem­bly (THA), dat­ed Sun­day 27 March 2022.

How­ev­er, the Di­vi­sion says there were no new deaths from COVID-19 in To­ba­go over the past 24 hours, with the is­land’s death toll re­main­ing at 257.  The most re­cent deaths were record­ed on Sat­ur­day 26 March 2022, with the de­ceased not­ed as two (2) un­vac­ci­nat­ed per­sons

The Di­vi­sion al­so is re­port­ing that 12 peo­ple cur­rent­ly are hos­pi­talised with COVID-19.  Ten of these pa­tients have not been vac­ci­nat­ed at all against the dis­ease, while the oth­er two (2) have been ful­ly vac­ci­nat­ed.

The Di­vi­sion’s up­date for 27th March 2022 al­so notes that at present, the to­tal num­ber of peo­ple in To­ba­go who have re­cov­ered from COVID-19 since March 2020, now stands at 7,359.
