There were 58 new positive COVID-19 cases reported in Tobago over the past 24 hours. The number of current active infections on the island now stands at 508.
That’s according to the latest update from the Division of Health, Wellness and Social Protection, in the Tobago House of Assembly (THA), dated Friday 29 April 2022.
The report also notes that no new deaths have been recorded, and as such, the death toll remains at 265.
The most recent death on the island was reported this week, on Thursday 28 April 2022. Prior to that date, there was one COVID-19 death in Tobago reported on Friday 22nd April 2022. In both instances, a fully vaccinated person was recorded as the COVID-19 deceased.
The THA Health Division also is reporting that 15 people currently are hospitalised with COVID-19. Fifteen of these patients have not been vaccinated at all against the disease, while five patients have been fully vaccinated.
The Tobago COVID-19 update for 29 April 2022 says at present, the total number of people in Tobago who have recovered from COVID-19 since March 2020, now stands at 7,942.
