The To­ba­go Hin­du So­ci­ety (THS) in col­lab­o­ra­tion with the Ma­hat­ma Gand­hi In­sti­tute for Cul­tur­al Co­op­er­a­tion (MG­ICC) and the In­di­an High Com­mis­sion cel­e­brat­ed Phag­wa or Holi on Sat­ur­day at Sig­nal Hill on the site where the THS plans to con­struct the is­land's first Hin­du tem­ple. Wayne Clarke, the As­sis­tant Sec­re­tary of Com­mu­ni­ty De­vel­op­ment, Youth De­vel­op­ment and Sport on the To­ba­go House of As­sem­bly (THA), said every creed and race finds an equal place in To­ba­go.

Clarke, who spoke on be­half of Chief Sec­re­tary Far­ley Au­gus­tine, said T&T has a di­verse eth­nic pop­u­la­tion that on­ly serves to ben­e­fit and en­rich all peo­ple. He said em­brac­ing all cul­tures would on­ly strength­en the peo­ple of T&T.

Pul­warty Beepath, the Pres­i­dent of the Hin­du So­ci­ety said the So­ci­ety was grate­ful to the THA and for­mer chief sec­re­tary Orville Lon­don for the half acre of land for the con­struc­tion of the tem­ple.
