Tributes are pouring in following the passing of veteran comedian and storyteller Dennis "Sprangalang" Hall.
In a statement on Friday night, Minister of Tourism, Culture and the Arts Randall Mitchell extended his deepest condolences to his family and loved ones.
Hall passed away Friday night, two days after celebrating his 71st birthday.
Mitchell said “The range of Sprangalang’s talent knew no boundaries as his credits included comedian, storyteller, actor, talk-show host, writer, producer and director.
"T&T’s entertainment landscape was made richer by his engaging performances and humorous take on life. Sprangalang was a giant in the industry and a cultural icon. He will certainly be missed.”
In a message posted to its Facebook page, Gayelle the Caribbean offered their condolences to the family and friends of Hall.
"Our Cultural Sprangalang is no more. Deepest condolences to his wife, family members, friends, colleagues, to Trinidad and Tobago and the Caribbean.
"We have lost our greatest Cultural Library. Rest now Sprang! Thank you for your service."
Trinbago Unified Calypsonians' Organisation (TUCO) posted on Facebook the President, National Executive and membership of TUCO expressed their condolences and sympathies to Hall.
He was a comedian, historian, actor, producer, talk show host, singer/composer and a lifetime member of TUCO.
SLAM 100.5FM in its online post extended deepest condolences to Hall's family, friends and loved ones.
