Trinidad and Tobago has a strong presence at the ongoing 2023 Suriname Energy Oil and Gas Summit (SEOGS).
The country's participation at the summit was coordinated by state-owned National Energy Corporation of Trinidad and Tobago Limited (National Energy), under the direction of the Ministry of Energy and Energy Industries (MEEI). T&T unveiled the largest exhibition pavilion at the summit.
In addition to the extensive display of “Brand T&T”, the Summit will hear from some of this country’s most influential figures, including Stuart Young, Minister of Energy and Energy Industries.
On Monday, Minister Young participated in a Ministerial Roundtable focused on “Strategic Regional Cooperation: Challenges and Benefits”. Joining him in this discussion was His Excellency Albert R. Ramdin, Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Business and International Cooperation, from the Republic of Suriname, and His Excellency Robert Persaud, Foreign Secretary Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, from The Cooperative Republic of Guyana.
During his contribution, Minister Young urged all three countries (Trinidad and Tobago, Suriname and Guyana) to take control of their countries’ destiny and assured the audience of Trinidad and Tobago’s commitment to collaborate for the region “to be that loud voice in the geopolitics.”
Minister Young also emphasised the importance of sharing information amongst countries so all can benefit from lessons learnt.
