Pres­i­dent of the Trinidad and To­ba­go Uni­fied Teach­ers’ As­so­ci­a­tion, Mar­tin Lum Kin, says the ed­u­ca­tion fra­ter­ni­ty is in a bet­ter place be­cause of Lisa Mor­ris-Ju­lian's con­tri­bu­tions.

He said the un­time­ly death of the min­is­ter in the Min­istry of Ed­u­ca­tion will leave a void, es­pe­cial­ly since she ded­i­cat­ed her life to the cause of ed­u­ca­tion, from her days at Barataria South Sec­ondary School where she taught, to her min­is­te­r­i­al du­ties.

Lum Kin said TTUTA is sad­dened by the news, es­pe­cial­ly since Mor­ris-Ju­lian was a mem­ber of the As­so­ci­a­tion who as­sist­ed them when­ev­er she could.

Mean­while, fel­low Arim­i­an and UWI St. Au­gus­tine prin­ci­pal, Pro­fes­sor Rose-Marie Belle An­toine, al­so re­mem­bered Mor­ris-Ju­lian for her pas­sion for play­writ­ing, which earned her nu­mer­ous awards at the sec­ondary school lev­el.

Pro­fes­sor An­toine said the late min­is­ter’s lega­cy will live on in the stu­dents she en­cour­aged, the com­mu­ni­ties she up­lift­ed, and the friends and fam­i­ly who knew her heart.
