Two men were shot and killed in separate shootings in Tunapuna and Arima yesterday.
The first shooting took place shortly before midday at Second Trace, Maingot Road, Tunapuna.
Police said Elijah Charles, 21, was at his home when two masked gunmen entered and shot him several times before running away.
Charles reportedly attempted to jump through a window to escape his attackers but collapsed a short distance away.
He was taken to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex in Mt Hope but was pronounced dead on arrival.
Police said Charles, who had pending cases for firearm possession, was shot 17 times.
Meanwhile, around 4.30 pm, Homicide detectives were called to the scene of a shooting off Punnette Road, Pinto Road, Arima.
The victim was walking along the road when he was ambushed and shot several times.
He was pronounced dead on the scene by a District Medical Officer (DMO).
The victim had not been identified by police up to late yesterday.
The two killings raised the murder count for the year to 467.
