Parts of North, Cen­tral and South Trinidad, served by the Ca­roni Wa­ter Treat­ment Plant will con­tin­ue to ex­pe­ri­ence a re­duced wa­ter sup­ply un­til Sat­ur­day, as the pro­duc­tion at the plant re­mains at a re­duced lev­el.

An ad­vi­so­ry from the Wa­ter and Sew­er­age Au­thor­i­ty ex­plains:

“This has be­come nec­es­sary due to flood­ed riv­er con­di­tions and clogged screens cur­rent­ly be­ing ex­pe­ri­enced at the raw wa­ter in­take of the fa­cil­i­ty due to the weath­er con­di­tions as per the ITCZ.”

It added: “The Au­thor­i­ty will con­tin­ue to mon­i­tor riv­er con­di­tions with a view of re­turn­ing the fa­cil­i­ty to full pro­duc­tion ca­pac­i­ty in the short­est pos­si­ble time, and al­so thanks cus­tomers for their pa­tience and un­der­stand­ing.”
