Weekes joins Race for the Kids on Sunday

Pres­i­dent Paula-Mae Weekes will be among the hun­dreds of par­tic­i­pants tak­ing part in this year’s edi­tion of RBC Race for the Kids. The event takes place on Sun­day in Port-of-Spain.

The race in­cludes two runs – a 15km run­ning race, and a 5km walk/run fun run. The pro­ceeds from the event will go to the Caribbean Chil­dren’s Can­cer Fund and will sup­port es­sen­tial pae­di­atric can­cer di­ag­no­sis and treat­ment pro­grammes at the Er­ic Williams Med­ical Sci­ences Com­plex.

Al­so ex­pect­ed to take part in the event is Sport and Youth Af­fairs Min­is­ter Sham­fa Cud­joe.

RBC said in a state­ment yes­ter­day that Weekes will par­tic­i­pate in the 5km run wear­ing rac­ing bib #1.

The bank said she is an avid sup­port­er of chil­dren’s caus­es and a firm be­liev­er in the pow­er of sport.

RBC said it is ho­n­oured by her pres­ence and her par­tic­i­pa­tion.

Start­ing time for 15km race is 5.45 am while the 5km walk/run fun run be­gins at 6.30 am.

Both races start at RBC’s Head Of­fice on St Clair Av­enue and end around the cor­ner at Queen’s Roy­al Col­lege.
