Well Services hires international company to help get Pete’s body

Well Ser­vices Pe­tro­le­um Com­pa­ny Ltd says it has hired a third-par­ty com­pa­ny to sup­ply the spe­cialised equip­ment re­quired for the re­cov­ery of Pe­te Phillip’s body.

The com­pa­ny did not name the or­gan­i­sa­tion but said it was “a high­ly re­gard­ed provider of ad­vanced equip­ment with the req­ui­site ex­per­tise for this type of op­er­a­tion.”

A state­ment yes­ter­day said, “This en­gage­ment will en­able the com­pa­ny to ac­cel­er­ate its ef­forts to en­sure the re­cov­ery of Pe­te Phillip in com­pli­ance with all safe­ty and en­vi­ron­men­tal pro­to­cols.”

Well Ser­vices al­so said a What­sApp group was cre­at­ed to fa­cil­i­tate di­rect and time­ly up­dates with fam­i­ly mem­bers.

“This group has been in­stru­men­tal in pro­vid­ing in­for­ma­tion to en­sure that per­sons are kept in the loop re­gard­ing the sta­tus and progress of the re­cov­ery ef­forts. The lat­est up­date to the fam­i­ly was pro­vid­ed yes­ter­day,” it said.

On Jan­u­ary 10, Well Ser­vices said it had lo­cat­ed Phillip’s body.

At 3.09 am on De­cem­ber 22, 2024, Rig 110 par­tial­ly col­lapsed with 75 per­son­nel on­board. One per­son sus­tained in­juries and was in sta­ble con­di­tion and sent for med­ical care. Phillip was nev­er found.
