Hours af­ter se­nior of­fi­cers of the T&T Po­lice Ser­vice (TTPS) ad­vised the pub­lic to ex­er­cise height­ened vig­i­lance as the yule­tide sea­son gets in­to full swing, an Ari­ma woman was robbed of TT$80,000 in cash as she walked out of the bank.

The 36-year-old woman of The Cross­ings, Tumpuna Road, walked out of the Sco­tia­bank, Ari­ma branch around 1:31 pm, af­ter hav­ing with­drawn the mon­ey.

It was re­port­ed that as she en­tered her car, which had been parked near KFC, Wind­sor, Ari­ma she was ap­proached by two men.

Point­ing a gun at her, the two masked ban­dits de­mand­ed she hand over the cash or she would be shot.

As one of the sus­pects grabbed her around the neck, the sec­ond man grabbed her hand­bag, and they ran off in a souther­ly di­rec­tion to­wards a wait­ing car.
