A 27-year-old man was shot dead on his jobsite in Pleasantville around midday yesterday.

The victim was identified as Kareem Williams, of Parforce Road, Bonne Aventure Road, Gasparillo.

Police said Williams, a labourer, was attacked at a construction site he was working at along Mahogany Drive in Pleasantville.

They said Williams was sitting on a bucket when a silver Aqua stopped. A male occupant, wearing a face mask and dark clothing, came out the car and fired several shots at Williams, who collapsed in a makeshift structure.

Officers of the Southern Division Task Force responded and took him to the San Fernando General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Homicide detectives did not immediately disclose a motive for his killing. Homicide Region 3 officers are investigating.
