We must face the truth and not try to elude ourselves from the fact, that we may well have over 40,000 Venezuelans in this country. Many do not wish to register as they may have entered the country illegally.
There are too many unmanned inlets to this island especially from Venezuela which is only seven miles away.
We also have here many illegal immigrants coming from countries from as far as Africa. We have become a haven for criminals and many such illegal immigrants are from the criminal world, who are encouraged especially by the perpetual expansion of corruption in high places here, and by the persistence of a high serious crime rate here.
Criminals coming here from Venezuela certainly do not wish to have their names recorded on official documents.
We must face reality and do not try to avoid criticism when cast upon us without our politicians, first having the true facts at hand.
At present they live in a make-belief world and so do their supporters who are quick to jump on the bandwagon of a defensive mode.
