To date, as far as I am aware, no man holding the eminent position of Chief Secretary of Tobago, has carried the allegation of attempted sexual assault as part of his portfolio.
T&T is a country that is seriously weighted down by rampant domestic violence issues. Perhaps men in general can deal with forgiving the T&T male who allegedly delights in being over familiar with ladies, but our women cannot. If there is an allegation of sexual harassment to be cleared in the courts, wait to be cleared even if it takes ten years. Image is everything to a discerning electorate.
We sometimes claim the police to be exerting unreasonable power and sometimes they do. But where is the admittance that several T&T men, of all races and financial distinctions, are far worse than the police with a gun in your face?
Men who forgive indiscretions such as allegations of sexual assault and domestic violence are themselves allegedly just as flawed as the perpetrators. Being viewed as being politically beautiful must include being in possession of good political image.
This is T&T where, like it or not, your good image is everything.
