I am not a spokesperson for the Presbyterian Church in T&T but I do belong to the Santa Cruz Presbyterian Church. There have been suggestions that some people are unaware as to what has been happening regarding the allocation of monies to various religious institutions by our government about the purchase of and distribution of hampers to needy families both in our church and the nearby communities.
Allow me to say this, our church at Santa Cruz requested for and received hampers from the government through our Board of Social Responsibility headed by a very hard working Rev Daniel Chance.
These hampers were some of the best I have seen and any family would be more than happy to receive one. In fact, that is the feedback we have been receiving. I am confident that this activity has also been widespread in our Presbyterian community in T&T.
While we have not taken photographs and posted our hamper distribution on social media as “public proof”, we continue to keep our records in other ways and, of course, do God’s work regardless of misconceptions that may be publicly shared.
I say a gracious thank you and well done to the Prime Minster and his team, them for their efficient organisation and distribution of these hampers.
